How is your relationship with God? Would you say it is fair, rocky, warmth, or cold? Today’s psalm paints a beautiful picture of how God blesses His man.
Commentary:
David wrote this psalm with a third person voice. David is the king in the psalm. God has granted him the protection, the blessings, and the fellowship.
David did not have to worry about his enemies. Because he stood on the side of God, his enemies happened to be God’s enemies. God will judge them.
Meditation:
The king in the psalm could be anyone of the believers. When we have a wonderful relationship with God, we are like the king in the psalm. God will give us many blessings, including long life, good things, and a crown of gold. God will grant us our heart’s desire. No doubt, every believer would be loved by God like David was. How did David get there?
Reading the Bible, we realize that David got there because his heart was wholly devoted to the Lord. In other words, he made what matters to God his matter and his first priority. This is the circumcision of the heart, which God has given to all believers in the New Testament age.
In conclusion, we are all capable to obtain what was given to David. Recognition is the first step. Then take concrete action to pursue God. Spiritual discipline begins with physical discipline. Shape up our life to follow God.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you that you uphold justice. We pray that we will follow you and always be the light to shine darkness in this world. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
